Upcoming Episodes I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS 12/13/01 As December 25 nears, Dr. Benton (original cast member Eriq La Salle, in his final "ER" episode) boils over with rage and frustration as his custody trial for his son Reese hits a critical stage -- and he must choose between his ER job and the child unless the cranky Dr. Romano (Paul McCrane) agrees to custom-tailor his work schedule. Elsewhere, a busy Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) finds romance, receives some jolting news from his father (guest star Michael Gross, "Family Ties") who's visiting for the holidays and then ministers to a boy (guest star Lee Perri) whose fall from a tree causes great concern among his tight-knit family; Dr. Weaver (Laura Innes) is perplexed by a pregnant woman (guest star Ananda Banc) who's ready to deliver her baby despite remaining in a coma for a year; a sobbing young mother (guest star Anne Dudek) accidentally shoots her son near the Christmas tree, and a curious Abby (Maura Tierney) spies Dr. Kovac's (Goran Visnjic) elusive French girlfriend (guest star Julie Delpy) sneaking through the hospital. |

About the Show: ER is the emmy winning medical drama about a group of doctors, nurses, and other hospital personell at an inner-city, county hospital in Chicago. The characters include, or included (people come and go): Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards), a now divorced and re-married father of two girls, 14-year-old Rachel from his previous marriage, and baby Ella who was just born this season. His wife, Dr. Elizabeth Courday (Alex Kingston), a British-born surgeon who came to Cook County General on a fellow-ship to work with the anal Dr. Robert "Rocket" Romano (Paul McCrane). Courday and Greene were married in the 2000-2001 season, and she had their daughter, Ella about two months later. The cheif of staff, Dr. Romano, who no one but his mother likes, is the kind of guy who orders dirty work to be done, and sends others to do it. He runs the hospital on an "I say jump, you don't ask 'how high', you just do it," policy, and anyone who gets in his ambitious way, is dog meat. Dr. Carrie Weaver (Laura Innes), Cheif of the ER, who recently made the mistake of "coming out" to Romano; Dr. John Carter (Noah Wyle), a now recovering drug addict who became addicted to pain killers after her was stabbed. Dr. Luka Kovach (Goran Visnjic), a Croatian doctor who has struggled with past wounds of losing his wife and children this season; Dr. Cleo Finch (Michael Michelle), a pediatrician who has to put up with an extreme attitude from her long-term boyfriend, surgeon, Dr. Peter Benton (Eriq La Salle). Nurse Carol Hathoway (Julianna Marguilles) who left the show in the 1999-2000 season to go to Seattle to be with her "one and only" Dr. Doug Ross (George Clooney), the father of her twin daughters, Tess and Kate. Ross left the 98-99 season after he made the biggest, but most noble (in my opinion) mistake in his career. Also, the show follows the dramatic life of Kovac's girlfriend, Nurse Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney), who this season had to deal with her manic-depressive mother, Maggie (Guest-star Sally Field) showing up, and also, her mother's attempted suicide; and Dr. Jing-Mei (Deb) Chen, who left the show temporarilly in the first season, and then returned. Chen went through an extremely tough time this year, after giving her newborn son up for adoption. Dr. Dave Malucci (Erik Palladino), a very good, but unorthodoxed doctor who usually ends up solving the most difficult and unusual cases from his vast knowlege of useless information. And last, Dr. Lucy Knight (Kellie Martin) who was killed after she and Carter were stabbed by a patient in the 99-2000 season. Main Cast: George Clooney... Dr. Douglas "Doug Ross" Anthony Edwards...
